General Information
History Book Update
All of the family histories have been finished and taken to the printer. The committee is continuing to work on the rest of Montmartre’s history. We do not know the exact cost of the books (approx. $120 for the 2 volume set). We do not know the exact number of pages yet and we need to decide on how many to order, so if you plan on purchasing a book and have NOT put down a deposit please do so immediately—the deposit is $75.00. Cheques are to be made payable to Village of Montmartre and can be dropped off or mailed to the Village of Montmartre, Box 146, Montmartre, SK., S0G 3M0. As of October 30th we will no longer take deposits. After the books have been given to those people who left a deposit, anyone wanting a book will have to purchase it from the Village Office on a first come first serve basis. The book will cost $30.00 more for those who did not put down a deposit, so save yourself some money and be guaranteed that you have a book by making a deposit NOW.
Better yet, why not do some Christmas shopping and buy your children a book, they will get hours of enjoyable reading and it will be a keepsake for life, after all Christmas is less than 4 months away.
Montmartre Donor’s Choice
I have co-ordinated the Donors Choice Program for the past several years and now it's time to pass the torch or quit due to my age, more regulations from Canada Revenue Agency and Bank Charges being implemented in September. No doubt when the program started there weren’t all the opportunities to donate to organizations and not the same number of pleas from an increasing number of charities. Please contact me, Sylvia Sorensen at 424-2300 after August 11th if you are willing to take this position over. If nobody is willing to do so then I will close the books. Thankyou to all who helped in the past.
MONTMARTRE REC BOARD
Montmartre Recreation Board is still seeking a new Board Member. Contact Andre Perras @ 424-2832 or Audrey Eberle @ 424-2610.
Southeast Connection Sport, Culture and Recreation District are now accepting pre-registrations for Fitness Leadership Training in the fall and winter 2010. We are looking for individuals who want to discover new rewarding employment opportunities. Training will be offered at a low cost and close to home, so you can become a certified fitness leader within our community to empower others to lead healthy, active lifestyles. For more info on certification details, visit www.spra.sk.ca/fitness. If interested please call Audrey Eberle @ 424-2610.
Thank you note:
A special thanks to my family and friends for helping me to celebrate my Birthday with style...and to all who came out on August 3rd for Birthday Cake and refreshments. I would also like to thank everyone for all the cards, gifts and Birthday wishes. It was a day I will never forget. Thank you Maria Sklany
