LIBRARY NEWS
NOTE-NEW LIBRARY HOURS AS OF JAN. 01, 2012 Mon.1-5pm. Wed. 11 am-12:30pm. & 1-5:30pm. Thur. 3-8pm.Fri. 12-5 pm. New paperbacks are in for adults and teens. Phone 424-2029 to order or renew books. Fines for books are 30 cents per book per day.
NOTE DAY CHANGE- Library Soup and Pie Fundraiser at the Curling Rink Saturday Feb. 4th from 11am- 2pm during Ladies Curling Bonspiel. Story hour on Fridays in Feb. Phone 424-2029 for more info.

Dinner Theatre
“Chokecherry Wine” the musical version will be presented in April by the Montmartre Arts Council. We need singers and backstage people. No experience necessary. Call Cal Abrahamson at 424-2085 if interested.

Fr. C. Lucey (originally from Mutrie ) has written a book THE POETIC WORKS OF FR. LUCEY and edited by Bryan Pielak. Cost is $20 or $28 for large print. Anyone who is interested in a purchase may contact Cecile Schnell at 424- 2138
Montmartre & District Cadets
The Cadets will be hosting a Bottle Drive on Tuesday January 3rd from 7 -9 pm. Cadets will be going door to door to pick up bottles. People will be contacted to see if they have any bottles to donate for that evening. Bottles may be dropped off at the Cadet Hall that evening or call Florence Giroux at 424-2841.
Montmartre & District Lions Club
Montmartre & District Lions Senior’s Supper at 6pm in R.C. Church basement, if you are 65 and over please plan to attend and to enjoy the entertainment after supper.

Fire & Ice Festival
Fire & Ice Festival on January 28, 2012 - Hockey, free skating, face painting, sleigh rides, fire pit, family/kids games, stick curling tournament, chili contest. Watch for posters for times and more information
Fire & Ice Chili contest: judging will begin at 10:30 a.m., all entries need to be at the rink by 10:00 a.m., in a heated pot (crock pot, slow cooker), with a ladle or large spoon. To enter, call Clayton or Carrie at 424-2271 by January 26. After the judging (around 11:00 a.m.), the chili (with buns) will be sold by the bowl, with all proceeds to go to the rink.
MONTMARTRE LICENSED DAYCARE BUZZ!!!
December was full of celebration and activity at the daycare! We had an excellent bake sale and a very fun Christmas party. The potluck at school provided us a great lunch, followed by Santa's special visit with all the daycare children in the afternoon. We also learned about the letter L and had a science week with experiments of volcanos, exploding colors and magic drawings. Of course, we were busy with Christmas crafts and to end the month, we learned about polar bears. Inquiries welcome! - give us a call at 424-2285.
MONTMARTRE LICENSED DAYCARE INC. is seeking a casual / part time childcare worker. Applicants must be enthusiastic, able to take initiative and have a positive attitude. Experience with children and ability to work part of a team are essential. Further information regarding CPR - First Aid training and ECE education courses will be discussed with select applicants. A TB test and criminal record check are required for the successful applicant. We encourage all interested persons to apply. Questions can be directed to Ros Schneider at the daycare at 424-2285. Montmartre Health Trust
Montmartre Health Trust was established in September 2005, to provide financial assistance associated with health related expenses, to residents of the RM of Montmartre and Village of Montmartre. Funds are received from donations and fund raisers. Anyone interested in donating to Montmartre Health Trust may do so by mailing donations to: Montmartre Health Trust, Box 33 Montmartre, SK, S0G 3M0. Please note- if you require a receipt, donations need to be made payable to the Village of Montmartre. The South East Saskatchewan Air Rifle Club
The South East Saskatchewan Air Rifle Club would like to thank everyone who donated gifts to the children’s store at the Christmas Farmers Market. We would also like to thank everyone who came out and supported our very successful Lobster Fundraiser Dinner. A special thank you to the Trackside Inn, Diane Kotylak (Party Lite), Sysco, The Co-op, TD Bank, Viterra, Louis Dreyfus, Brenda Stoppler (Party Lite) and The Wolseley Pelleting Plant for all the items they donated for prizes.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Louis & Gina Giroux for the use of their heated shop to build our shooting range. We would like to send a special thank you to Shawn Kerbs for designing and welding our shooting ranges, as well as Greg Schmidt for the great deal on the steel used to build our ranges.
Thank you to Montmartre School, our new home for our shooting club! Thank you to the Lions Club and the Montmartre Rec. Board for their generous donations. With support like this our club will be very successful, Thank you.

Sister’s Bistro & Boutique
Sisters' Bistro's last day of operation will be Saturday, Jan. 14. Watch for the opening of Angelo's Italian Ristorante (authentic Italian cuisine) in the space currently occupied by the Bistro. Proposed opening is Feb. 1, 2012. The Boutique will continue to operate.
The Sisters would like to thank their customers for their support. Happy New Year to you all.
