                                          Moonlight Café will be hosting a Breakfast Brunch from 10:30 am – 1 pm

Monday 15th                     Senior’s Exercises at 10 am

Wednesday 17th               TD Canada Trust is having a Customer Appreciation Day from 9:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

Thursday 18th                   Seniors will be singing at the Health Centre at 2:00pm, anyone interested is welcome to join us, we can use you....

Friday 19th                        Open Cribbage Tournament at Seniors Hall. Registration 6:30 for 7:00pm

Monday 22nd                    Senior’s Exercises at 10 am

Montmartre Co-op

Montmartre Co-op Kids Club Christmas Party Sunday December 14, 1-4 pm:  Come check out the exciting games - Dino Bouncers are back as well as the Velcro wall, face painting and much more!  All kids 12 and under are welcome.  This year Santa is coming to the school instead of the Co-op so come have your picture taken with him and join in the fun and games at the Montmartre School Gymnasium.   Last year's party was a blast so be sure to be there! 

Farm Business Planning

Farm Business Planning - Cost of Production Workshop   Thursday, January 29, 2009 @ Village of Montmartre Office.  Montmartre Economic Development & Tourism Committee is hosting a Cost of Production Workshop for Agriculture Producers. As part of the Farm Business Planning "Targets for Success" this workshop will assist farm producers in calculating the cost of production for all commodities produced on their farms.  Workshop will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  By the end of the workshop, the producer will complete an enterprise analysis and calculate their cost of production for all commodities on their farms.  You will require your most recent income/expense reports, assets/liabilities report and market values. Registration fee for the workshop is $10 (includes lunch) and payment must be received prior to Friday, January 23, 2009 to reserve your participation as only 12 spaces are available. Registration fee will be accepted at the Village of Montmartre Office and any inquiries can be directed to Sharon @ (306) 696-7900 or 424-2040.

Knights of Columbus Toy Drive

The K of C is doing a Christmas toy drive--new and almost new toys are being collected to be delivered to children living in safe houses.  They will also take women & children's clothing & non-electric kitchen items.

Centennial 2009

How can you help?  Please pick up copies of the invitation/registration form for the Centennial and include them in your Christmas cards. Where can you pick up the invitation; Village/RM office and most businesses in town?   If you are e-mailing your Christmas cards please contact Patsy 424-2166 or 424-2213 and she will e-mail you the invitation so that you can attach it to your e-mail.  Also register early......please.

 

 

 

 

 

Montmartre Licensed Daycare

Montmartre Licensed Daycare will be opening in 2009!  We are currently looking at staffing the facility.  If you or anyone you know might be interested in a rewarding employment opportunity as an early childhood educator, please inquire with Sharon May (Economic Development Officer) at the Village Office by phoning 424-2040, or stopping by any day of the week.  We will be hiring for full time, part time, casual and student positions.  All inquires welcomed! ATTENTION PARENTS

ATTENTION PARENTS with young children a SURVEY of need for Child Care Services is being undertaken in the Montmartre area.  If you did not receive a copy of the survey in the mail and are interested in completing a survey extra copies are available at the Montmartre Village Office.  Survey results to be compiled by December 10, 2008. 

Knights of Columbus

The K of C wish to thank all those who supported our Quad Rally on Oct. 18th. The winners are as follows: Raffle for the tent Wendy Englot, 50/50 $70.00 Karter Klapak. The money prizes: $100.00 Tim Dusyk, $75.00 Donny Kotylak, $50.00 Scott Sluser, $25.00 Glenavon Jean Kotylak, $15.00 Ted Nameth, $10.00 & $5.00 Wendy Englot, we are very thankful for your support. This past summer we were able to make a donation of $1000.00 to Kemoca Park because of your support.

 

The K of C will be holding a $1000.00 raffle again this year with 3 prizes of: $500.00, $300.00 and $200.00. Tickets are now on sale, the draw to be held at the Dec. 4th at K of C meeting.

Montmartre & District Cadets

The Montmartre and District Cadets will be doing a “Bottle Drive” for a fundraiser on January 7th, 2009.  To have items picked up please call Robert Giroux at 424-2020 or Cathy at 424-2847.  Items can also be dropped off at the Cadet Building on January 7th, 2009 from 7 – 9 pm.  The Montmartre & District Army Cadets thank you.

 

Montmartre Rec Board

Montmartre Rec Board is looking for board members.  If you are interested please contact Lorrie Moldovan as soon as possible. 

 Our Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd at 7:30 at the RM Office.  Please try to attend.

 Sparkle Contest: The rec board is having their annual sparkle contest on Saturday, December 20th.  We have a theme of 12 days of Christmas. Due to a lack of rural entries we are asking the rural people to enter your yard or enter a neighbor’s yard. If you think someone's lights are great enter them or enter yourself....Rural entries please call Val Gaetz at 424-2653.

Glenavon Sleigh Ride

The Glenavon's Choir of Communities presents "A Musical Sleigh Ride" Sunday, December 14th @2:30pm at the Glenavon United Church. In addition to the adult choir there will be presentations by the youth choir and local piano students. Everyone is invited.

Moonlight Café

Moonlight Café is closed Mondays and all Holidays.  Christmas Hours are as follows closed December 23, 24, 25 26 and January 1st.

Montmartre School Award Night

Montmartre School Award Night will be held on December 7th at the School Gym, there will be a KFC supper.  Tickets should be purchased in advance for $ 7.00 and are available at Montmartre School.  Come celebrate our student’s success!

John’s Air Conditioning

John’s Air Conditioning is having an Anniversary Sale from December 1st – 20th. Coffee and Donuts will be served on December 1st from 10 – 4 pm.

Kemoca Regional Park-Tender for Removal

Tender for Removal of Building (Track Shed) will be accepted at the Village Office until December 12th, 2008.  Building is 18’ by 24’ and needs to be removed from the park. For more information please contact Renee at the Village Office.
