A Strategic
Planning Session held by the Economic Development and
Tourism Committee of the Village of Montmartre on
December 15th, 2007 at the Municipal Office
resulted in the following vision, mission and
project/priorities as approved in 2008.
COMMITTEE VISION
Montmartre and area will be the desired community of
choice for business investment and tourism growth which
will act as the catalyst to increasing our area
population to 1200 in ten years.
Our open for business attitude combined with our
willingness to create local partnerships is our
trademark and this will allow us to have more serviced
residential and commercial properties to accommodate the
expected demand.
As the desired tourist destination location in region
due to our superior recreation and parks facilities and
our unique packaging of our assets, the tourism industry
will grow and become a major employer for our community.
As an attractive place for families to live, work and
play, we will be renowned for being a welcoming
community with all the amenities of a much larger
centre.
We are on the move!

SIGNAGE
CORRIDOR
The
Montmartre Economic Development and Tourism Committee
are encouraging businesses to place advertising signs in
the signage corridor alongside Highway 48 on the east
and west approaches to Village. The Committee feels
this is a highly visible form of business marketing for
the Village as on average 700 vehicles a day pass by
Montmartre.
To be a part
of the signage corridor businesses will enter into a 5
year agreement with the Economic Development and Tourism
Committee.
The first
year’s fee for business to have a sign in the corridor
is $150/sign and the preceding 4 years businesses will
be charged $100/sign.
Businesses
are responsible for having their own signs made and the
Committee will install them. Signs must be on a 1m x 3m
(4ft x 8ft) sheet with design regulations that adhere to
the Saskatchewan Highway Roadside Manual.
Signage
agreements that outline the regulations are available at
the Village Office, or for more information contact
Sharon @ (306)696-7900 or stop by the Village Office.
